“I am passionate about sharing the experience of genuine home-cooked Indian food, just as it is enjoyed in Indian homes every day”.
‘Rasoi’ is a traditional Indian kitchen where simple but delicious food is cooked using recipes handed down and perfected through generations. In my home, I will teach you to cook real, healthy, delicious Indian food using simple and traditional techniques that are used every day in Indian kitchens.
My classes are fun, interactive and open to complete beginners as well as serious food enthusiasts and will give you an opportunity to learn not only how to cook delicious home cooked Indian food but also to use spices confidently.
Classes take place at my home in Raynes Park, London and last approximately 3 hours. The class is very hands on and you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in! At the end of each class you can choose to eat together with the group or take the food away with you. Aprons, recipe sheets and all ingredients are provided and you just need to bring a healthy appetite along to the class.
A great way to get introduced to home cooked Indian food with some classic recipes to take away and impress friends and family.
This class aims to cover a set menu with one non-vegetarian and one vegetarian main dish accompanied by rice and raita (flavoured yogurt). Only fresh/organic ingredients are used in my classes and cooking is done by the students themselves making them very hands on. The menu for each class is pre-set and you will receive the full menu a few days prior to the class.
Please note these are not private lessons and there maybe others joining the class with a maximum of 6-8 people per group.
If you are looking to gift someone a special experience or would yourself like to learn a bespoke home cooked and authentic Indian meal then this is a perfect class for you. The menu is tailored and designed in consultation with you and you will have the option to choose from a wide variety of dishes. The menu typically includes – a non-veg main dish, veg main dish, rice, raita (flavoured yogurt), chutney and a bread and all dietary requirements can be taken care of.
Note: This experience can also be organised in the comfort of your own private kitchen. Please get in touch for more details.
This is a fully immersive course where you will learn how to pick and source the best Indian ingredients and cook a variety of dishes over three weeks.
At the end of this course, you would have gained a deeper understanding of how to balance all the different spices in Indian cuisine and will also have three set menus to replicate. The weekly menus are carefully designed to ensure that you build on the learning from previous classes and include curries and vegetables from different regions of India.
The course includes a food walk where I’ll take you around some of the prominent Indian grocery stores in Tooting giving you the lowdown on shopping for spices and other ingredients!
Please note that these are not private lessons and you will be joining my Set Menu Indian Cookery Class over 3 weeks.
I also host classes in the comfort of your own kitchen. These are very popular with my clients who want to organise an evening with their friends centered around cooking either as a simple social event or to celebrate an occasion.
These are fully customised sessions to take into account the preferences and requirements of the host.
